good morning. its 330 am. after an hour of frustratingly trying to sleep, i have given up and am up and on the couch with my now usual routine of computer and bowl of cereal at an ungodly hour. a typical occurence now in the lo-bialucha household. hey.. sleep is for suckers.
today was my last day of work. my boss and i decided that it was time for me to give up and focus on getting this baby out. i think everyone could tell i was getting tired and worn out and i too decided that i needed to give myself a break.
yesterday i think i lost my mucous plug. or at least it was something that looked exactly like what you would imagine something called a "mucous plug" to look like - a glob of mucous. just now i went to the bathroom and think i now have what's famously known as the "bloody show". Anatomically I believe this bloody show is actually part of the discharged mucous plug or some deeper layer of it, but anyways, Im experiencing some of the tell-tale signs of pre-labor.
So lets see, how many of those tell-tale signs do we have now:
- baby "dropped": check. he did this well over a month ago and has remained in position at every doctor's check up
- cervix starts to ripen: check. i was effaced and slightly dilated 2 weeks ago
- more braxton hicks: check. and slightly stronger ones, though never regular.
- pass mucous plug or have "bloody show": check.
besides my water breaking and feeling regular stronger contractions, ive pretty much covered all the pre-labor bases. But it could still be days and days (which might as well be weeks and months and years) before im actually in labor. ive reached a stage where i don't actually believe it will ever happen. I may as well get used to being pregnant forever....nevertheless like every single day for the past 3+ weeks, the only thing Im really wondering is...
Will it be today?
