Yes we have our first (of most probably MANY) daycare cold and poor KBB is all snotty and has to endure his mama following him around with the nose suction bulb thing. :-(
Last Friday when I was picking him up from daycare, one of his teachers was like "I dont think Im feeling very well".. then presumed to kiss him a few times on the face(!). The minute we got home I scrubbed his little face and hands but by Saturday the green boogers and little cough had started.
It may not be completely fair for me to blame the cold on his teacher alone as she may in fact have gotten it from one of the kids and there are a number of other potential sources of the cold. For example:
Baby A plays on the play mat where he reaches for a toy, puts it in his mouth, rubs some green boogers on it, and moves on to another toy. Baby B gets his chance and reaches for the same toy Baby A just had, puts it in his mouth, and ingests some of Baby A's yummy slobber and green boogers.
The next scenario involves Baby B coming home with green boogers, his mama sucking out the snot from his little nose, wipes it with a tissue, uses the same tissue to blow her own nose, then turns around to give Papa a kiss.
Result = sick Baby B, sick daddy U, sick mama CLO.

I don't want to scare you, but there will be many more days like these (all of your friends who have babies are good witnesses!)...the nursery is a continuous, very efficient incubator for all sorts of viruses and bugs. These will help to strenghten Baby B's immune system, but may be sometimes nastier for parents! So just hang in there, and hope you feel better soon. Love, Giovanna.
Cady was in daycare for three months and sick the entire three months. She was not and has not been sick before or after!
